What is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker?
Social workers obtained their start in 1860 with Jane Addams who worked to create Hull House in order to bridge gaps in the different social classes and provide equal opportunities for the poor and underserved populations.
Hull House approached helping people differently than other charitable organizations who acted as "gatekeepers" in deciding who needed and deserved assistance. Jane Addams believed that receiving help should not be a degrading experience. Our outlook is similar in that we all need help from others at various points in our lives and there is no shame in asking for what we need.
Our clinicians are have clinical experience which ranges from working in hospitals, outpatient mental health clinics, nonprofits, and private practices with populations and people from all walks of life. Our hope is that we can work to get to the heart of the issues you are struggling with so you can progressively move forward. Feel free to reach out to us to inquire about therapy services at info@ipalcsw.org or medication management/evaluation at medmanagement@ipalcsw.org.
